Life after Prostate Cancer – For Partners

For individuals who’s partner or spouse has been diagnosed with prostate cancer

A Prostate Cancer Diagnosis is a major life event, and although prostate cancer survival rates can be very high when caught early, accepting this new reality can bring challenges to your marriage, partnership, and family.

Share, talk, listen, and learn within this community of individuals supporting their partners with cancer. Find support as you join other individuals who share in your experience. Feel more connected, more confident, and more sane. Please join us for these special programs where you can share ideas and conversation about how to care for ourselves, our relationships, and balance our lives. Support and conversation served with a delicious lunch.

Partnering through Prostate Cancer -Maintaining Emotional Health through Hard Times

For couples impacted by prostate cancer

This program will address positively handling your emotional health through hard times. Dr. Alch will address the impact of cancer diagnosis, treatment, and treatments on a couple’s emotional health, as well as provide dialogue to positively maintain your emotional health throughout your life.

Healthy Cooking Classes

Nutrition and Continued Health

Studies have shown that healthy eating contributes to a healthier life. Learn how to incorporate easy techniques of healthy cooking methods which you can use daily to maintain and improve your health. Regardless of how much cooking experience you have, you will leave class able to prepare healthy foods that taste great! Enjoy a new culinary experience and a delicious dinner at this fun and focused event!

If so, you know firsthand that these problems can limit your ability to live a full, happy life. Here’s what you may not know: these issues are not something you “just have to live with” as you grow older.

Mind Over Bladder: Understanding Female Urinary Incontinence

This program will address the causes of female urinary incontinence and provide an insight into utilizing mindfulness practices to enhance your quality of life. At this program you will learn techniques to calm your mind and body, improve concentration, develop insight and mindfulness, and release negative mental habits. Additional treatment options for urinary incontinence will also be discussed.

Achieving Sexual Health

Sexual health is not just the absence of problems, nor is it a sum of behaviors – rather, it is built on your relationship to your own unique sexuality. Understanding yourself as a sexual being allows you to make choices about your sexual acts that reflect who you are. At this program you will learn about sexual health in a manner which promotes your formation of an identity about your sexuality that will help you make decisions about the kind of intimate life you want to create for yourself.
