ROBOTIC SURGERY FOR PROSTATE CANCER

In May 2004, Metro Urology’s first da Vinci® surgical team successfully completed their first daVinci prostatectomy at St. John’s hospital in Maplewood, Minnesota. Since that time Metro Urology’s Robotics Surgery Team has completed more than 2000 successful daVinci® prostatectomy surgeries in at United Hospital, North Memorial Hospital, Regions Hospital, Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Mercy Hospital, and St. John’s Hospital. By integrating ROBOTIC technology with our surgeon’s skill, the da Vinci® System enables surgeons to perform precise minimally invasive, nerve sparring surgery in a manner never before experienced to enhance healing and promote well-being. This operation represents a significant advance in our treatment for prostate cancer patients and we are delighted to offer this service to our patients. We are proud to introduce our robotic surgery team! Drs. Todd Brandt, Greg Hanson, Robert Gaertner, Christopher Knoedler, Aaron Milbank, Peter Sershon, David Streitz, and Hoo Yin Wong.
